When I first saw that Pampers had discontinued Cruisers and replaced them with “Cruisers with DryMax” I was a bit concerned. I was even more concerned when I saw all of the negative reviews.
Instead of buying the large box like I normally do I decided to by a small pack at the local grocery store to test them out. We still had some of the older cruisers, so I could compare them side by side.
First of all, the new diapers are almost identical. They’re supposedly 20% thinner, but that’s hardly noticeable. The most noticeable difference is that the interior of these diapers is pale purple, while the older ones were whiter. The graphics on the outside are also slightly different (they’re both Sesame Street, but the new ones have a slightly different drawing style.) Of course, you don’t buy diapers to look at them, so this is all pretty irrelevant.
We had our son wear the new diapers until the pack ran out. We had no incidents. We’ve since gone through about 1.5 of the large boxes, and still, we haven;t had any incidents of poop not sticking, or leaks, or whatever.
As far as I can tell, the many negative reviews are just caused by a small number of people who just don’t like change. Maybe some of them happened to have an exploding diaper shortly after switching. There’s even an anti-DryMax Facebook group, so you know that’s going to blow the number of negative reviews out of proportion.
Anyway, if you don’t know who to believe, I suggest you try out a small pack of the new diapers like I did and see for yourself.

I received both the Pampers Cruisers Dry Max and the Pampers Swaddlers Dry Max Diapers from Vine. A good friend’s daughter was the perfect size for these (18 lbs) and she was thrilled to try them out. The Swaddlers fit perfectly, but the Cruisers were (as to be expected) a little big. After a few weeks of use, her reaction was lukewarm. Since the baby was starting to be a little more active, the Swaddlers were a little too constraining. She ended up only using them around bedtime. The Cruisers were, however, still a little big but she thinks once the baby grows into them, they will be great.
I also think it’s adorable how the Swaddlers have pictures of baby Sesame Street characters, while the Cruisers show the characters a little more grown up.
Cruisers are great for baby that’s just starting to get active!

We received a sample pack of these diapers and were understandably skeptical about wether they would be any good. Boy were we wrong. These are great diapers. They are softer and seem to have stronger seems. My son wore the samples at nights for 8+ hours. No leakage. No rash. I can not wait for my full box. Awesome diaper.

It’s thinner than previous version. I really like it despite of the fact that I have couple of leak accidents with my baby.
