I know this may seem like the perfect product, and initally I thought it was too. I used them as a first time mom, desperate to keep from leaking through every piece of clothing I owned. I wore these things, and they seemed great. Yes, there will be a pocket of milk under the pad, there always was for me and I was pumping every 3 hours on the dot.

Then, about 2.5 weeks after my son was born, I woke up in terrible pain! TERRIBLE! That night at 9pm I was in the emergency room with 104.5 degree temperature and mastitis. At that point, I only had it in the right side. Then, 5 days later got it in the left side even after I discontinued use of this product.

The only logical cause for the mastitis is this product, which I was cleaning very well right along with my pump.

DON’t use it, it isn’t worth it. I had to quit breastfeeding because the antibiotics they gave me were so strong they dried up my milk. I was in so much pain they gave me morphine in the ER. Keep in mind that I gave birth naturally, and gladly would again, but would never ever want mastitis again!

I absolutely love Lily Padz. I wear them everyday, although they only last about a month for me. They are the perfect size for me considering I have what I consider large nipples.

i was so excited for these…. but they leak like crazy and milk pools in them, so when you take it off, you have a ot of milk and nowhere for it to go. great idea… poor execution

I love the convenience of the Lily Padz. I was a little hesitant to spend that much money on something that sounded too good to be true, but they have proven to be well wrth the money. They are easy and quick to use, and can be worn under anything. As a new mom I barely have time to get dressed half of the time, so searching in the laundry for a clean bra on short notice isn’t always an option. Lily Padz take maybe 30 seconds to apply and then I’m good to go.

I am a stay at home mom who is exclusively breastfeeding a now 4 month old son. I also have a 3 year old daughter who I nursed for 10 months while working so I am very familiar with engorgement, dealing with leaking at work, etc.

I think Lily Padz are great under certain situations. I use them under outfits that I can’t wear a bra under such as halter tops or tank tops. I haven’t tried them yet with swim suits. I also only use them after nursing when my baby is with me. I wouldn’t trust them to hold up for too long if I had to miss a feeding. I also always sterilize after every use by washing with dish soap & water and then soaking in vinegar as the manufacturer recommends.

If I know I might be separated from my baby or it is a leaky day, I just use reusable cotton nursing pads and change them every 3 hours. I just throw these pads in the wash with the baby’s clothes. Sometimes I use the disposable pads but I still change them every 3 hours.

For night sleeping I personally don’t want anything that will trap more milk in my breasts. I just wear a fitting cotton tank top and one or two t-shirts on top of it to absorb the milk. This is the best solution I have found that usually doesn’t result in the bed or my shirt being completely soaked by morning.

Don’t expect Lily Padz to be a cure all for every situation but instead a convenient way for a nursing mom to go braless once in a while. For any working mom or moms who leak a lot, you are probably going to have a use disposable or cotton nursing pads just make sure to change them every 3 hours or so even if you are pumping less frequently than that. Some moms even use double pads in their nursing pads.
