I applied this on our 13 month old daughter and the allergic reaction has lasted almost two weeks (so far!) and is so bad that I took her to the doctor. The pediatrician was amazed that this is marketed for babies as it contains milk, soy and citrus ingredients — all commonly cause allergic reactions in babies. I called the company to share my experience and they asked me to ship the bottle back to them for analysis. The doctor said to use Aquaphor instead. So much for 98.8% natural.

While walking through a store recently, they had this as a sampler. I have sensitive skin and the label looked safe, so I thought that I would try this.

Yikes!!! What an overpowering fragrance! What ever is in this stuff, it was intense. Sensitive skin does NOT mean lightly fragranced or fragrance free. I learned that the hard way, as I had to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. The smell would not go away until I had washed them several times. So, if I am this sensitive to this lotion, I feel sorry for the babies that may come in contact with this stuff.

This lotion actually moisturizes pretty well, but i can’t stand to use it. The fragrance is potent, cloying, and lingers. I feel like i have perfume-bombs on my hands after i use it, i’d never be able to get near my child if i used it on him. I can’t even figure out what the smell is, beyond strong and sweet.

And while it moisturizes well, it leaves a slight sticky residue on my skin.

I’m a big fan of Burt’s Bees products, but this is one i will not buy again.

I love all things Burt’s Bees, but this is so strong it makes me ill. It’s great lotion if you don’t mind the smell- even the smell isn’t BAD, just STRONG. It’s nice if you mix it with a non fragranced lotion, though! The texture is light and airy.

This is by far the best lotion I have EVER used. It is great from head to toe as it is not a thick lotion. Some people complain about the smell, and not all smells are for everyone so I do suggest going to a brick and mortar store to smell it before you buy. I personally love the smell and so does my boyfriend. I will never need to buy another lotion again as long as this stuff is still being made.

If you are on the fence, I ask that you please try this because if you do like the smell (which I do not find overpowering and I know what overpowering smells like) you will love this product forever. I will buy it for every person I know who is having a baby especially after reading the other reviews for this product. Also, I do not have a verified purchase by Amazon here because this went on sale 50% off at a store that was closing nearby so once I run out, I will be buying more from Amazon though.
